Tang’s voodoo boxes: Do they work?

Tang Weng Kit and his Quantum box.

Those who were in AFC Top Hi-Fi’s room during the recent Kuala Lumpur International AV Show would have experienced Tang Weng Kit’s Quantum boxes and I am sure many would have heard the difference in sound quality with the boxes powered on and off when connected to the hotel room’s power mains.

I had the Quantum Clarity and HD boxes in my house for a day to test with my system just before the KLIAVS 2023 was held.

I noted that with the Quantum Clarity powered on, the bass became easier to follow and was more tuneful while with the Quantum HD box powered on, the noise floor became lower.

Tang asked me to try plugging the Quantum HD to the wall plug in the kitchen. I did that and after switching it on and off with the Quantum Clarity plugged into a wall plug near my stereo system, I did not detect much difference.

I told Tang that results are likely to vary from house to house as the wiring schematics would be different. He agreed.

I also noticed that the differences in sound quality were more pronounced when the power cord with the Furutech NCF plugs was used. An audiophile asked me how much of the difference was due to the Furutech NCF plugs and how much was due to Tang’s Quantum box. I answered: “I don’t really know.”

What’s inside the boxes? Tang was reluctant to reveal, but there seems to be some kind of circuitry inside.

A few days ago, he WhatsApped to me two videos to prove that his Quantum boxes work. Please view them and then give him a call at 016-5209017.
