TechX Home Audio & Hi-Fi sent me a WiiM Amp Pro to review and it was simple to plug the streamer/DAC/amp to The Affordable System (TAS) comprising a pair of Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 (White Oak) speakers (RM1,999), a pair of Kanto ST28 28″ Speaker Stands (RM513) and 3-metre DALI 16 AWG Speaker Cables with Copper Colour Rhodium Banana Plugs (RM214).
The WiiM Amp Pro costs RM2,299 which brings the cost of the entire TAS to RM5,025. The WiiM Amp Pro comes with all sorts of cables and a remote control, so you need not spend more money buying cables.

The WiiM Amp Pro compared with the WiiM Amp: The Amp Pro uses the same TI TPA3255 Class D chip, but it features Post-Filter Feedback (PFFB) technology to deliver load-independent performance. Power output is the same at 60 watts (8 Ohms) and 120 watts (4 ohms).
Its digital-to-analogue conversion process uses the higher-end ESS ES9038Q2M DAC and a TI op amp. It achieves industry-leading low distortion and a wide dynamic range.
The WiiM Amp Pro uses the more advanced Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, and dual high-gain antennas for excellent streaming performance.
Paired with the Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 bookshelf speakers, the system delivered a robust sound that was smooth and pleasant.
It will lose out to higher-level systems in terms of image definition, layering of images, accuracy of imaging and depth of soundstage, but for an entry-level system that is affordable for Millennials and Gen Zers (some of their IEMs or DAPs cost more than this system), it is good enough for many pleasurable hours of listening to their playlists.
It is convenient and the wi-fi connection is strong and stable without any drop-out incident at all during the many hours I spent listening to this The Affordable System (TAS).
Though it is rated at only 60 watts (8 Ohms), it could drive the Wharfedales to quite a loud level without running out of steam.
