I love this story…it is inspirational and I hope more Malaysians will venture into making their own hi-fi and head-fi components. Malaysia is in dire need of its own DeepSeek moment.
“OMNE Audio was born from a simple question: Can a Malaysian company create headphones that rival the world’s best?
“The same thought echoed through the heads of its founders, Leong, Daniel, and Nabil, all of whom have had their pockets wrecked after years of draining their wallets chasing sonic perfection in the rabbit hole known as head-fi.
“And with Hendeka, our first release, we’re showing the world what a small, focused team can achieve when purpose comes before prestige. Led by a team of three very passionate, grassroots individuals, our collective belief is that music should be easy to listen to, enjoyable, fun. You’re not here to analyse the accuracy of every single nuance, you’re here because you want to kick back after a long day, turn on your setup, and get lost in the bliss of your favourite tracks. We’re here to make genre exploration easy.
“The Hendeka then is the culmination of that ethos: a headphone that’s built to set a new standard of accessible excellence. And under the direction of its founders, OMNE Audio operates as an independent, design-first audio company headquartered in Malaysia, with a mission to provide honest engineering and restrained, modern design.”
Hendeka is a flagship open-back headphone designed for discerning listeners and tuned for balance and warmth. It is priced at RM2,499.
“The Hendeka is built for the people who want to access high fidelity music that lasts a lifetime without breaking the bank,” said Leong Deng Yong, co-founder of OMNE Audio. “It’s our answer to a market that’s either overpriced or overhyped. This is honest sound that’s thoughtfully crafted.”
Built on a 3D-printed resin chassis, carbon fiber plate, velour pads, and a rod-adjusted headband system, the Hendeka is engineered for long hours of fatigue-free listening. Its 50mm dynamic drivers are meticulously tuned to deliver a balanced sound with just a touch of warmth, ensuring versatility across genres.
“When we set out to build the Hendeka, the goal was always centered around music, in the sense where we want to encourage people to explore other forms of music that are out of their comfort zone,” said Nabil, OMNE Audio’s co-founder. “The Hendeka is the tool for just that, allowing exploration of multiple genres presented well for an immersive listening experience.”
With a detachable dual 3.5mm cable, a custom hard carry case, and easy-to-drive impedance, Hendeka adapts as easily to a studio DAC as it does to a portable DAP. And with no amp dependency, it’s ready for any setup — at home, in the office or on the move.
Hendeka is available from July 1 2025 at RM2,499 through the Malaysian distributors, Stars Picker Audio and Respawn Gaming Tech. For Singaporean buyers, Zeppelin & Co is the appointed distributor, and Hendeka is priced at S$799.
In conjunction with The Bermuda Triangle of Audio: Part Two event on July 12-13, a soft launch of the Hendeka headphones will be held at Stars Picker’s showroom from 12 noon till 7 pm on July 12. Light refreshments will be served.
