Some audiophiles are asking on Facebook if there would be any AV show in Kuala Lumpur this year since there has been no official announcements so far.
This post is to clarify and to reassure — yes, there will be one AV show in Kuala Lumpur (to be accurate, it will be held in Petaling Jaya) this year, but it will not be the ‘old faithful’ Kuala Lumpur International AV Show. Instead, it will be the Wave Audio & Visual Experience.
Those who have been attending AV shows should recall the Gelombang AV show that was held on Aug 5-7, 2022, soon after the COVID-19 lockdowns were lifted, at Hotel Melia in Bukit Bintang. It was organised by Wilson Teoh, Director of Gryphon Productions Sdn Bhd. Wilson, who has been organising AV shows in Penang, has decided to hold a show in Kuala Lumpur with Wave (English for Gelombang).
Meanwhile, the Kuala Lumpur International AV Show will not be held this year because its venue, the Gardens Hotel in Mid Valley City, is undergoing major renovations. The organiser will keep audiophiles informed on his plans for 2026.
Wave Audio & Visual Experience will be held at Eastin Hotel in Petaling Jaya on Oct 10-12. Admission is free.
