The team at AV designs recently hosted a visiting duo from the TAD Bunkyo office in Tokyo. Mr Kazuto Okura who is the General Manager of Sales and Mr. Takehito Sekiguchi from Sales and Marketing were down to catch up with the AV Designs team along with a select group of audiophiles from the local scene.
After being treated to a delicious meal and entertaining banter about the local hifi scene, we were then treated to an introduction to the latest products from the TAD stable. At hand was the TAD-M2500TX, a new 2 channel power amplifier. The specific improvements in design and engineering which are part of this new product was showcased in a presentation done by Kazuto-san himself.
Kazuto-san explained about some of the key advances in the TAD-M2500TX. Most notably the changes in the design and construction of the high-capacity toroidal power transformer. Also talked about was the impressive chassis. Machined from a single block of aluminium, reducing parts and joints, the design doubles as an effective heat sink. Testament to the TAD engineering values which strives for perfection.
The ensuing listening session which showcased the M2500TX alongside other existing products from TAD with just the source coming from Innuos was a celebration of power and control delivered effortlessly. A selection of audiophile staples was played, giving us a glimpse into the performance potential of this beautifully engineered amplifier.
