Several audiophiles had expressed concern when TechX posted on Facebook today: “Why is TechX closing down & why is everything being auctioned?” They were surprised as TechX was seen as a vibrant company with innovative ideas. I have confirmed with Thiban of TechX that his company is not closing down.
Well, to be technical TechX will be closing — on Dec 31, 2025 and Jan 1, 2026. They will be open for business as usual on Jan 2. It was a case of Thiban thinking a bit too out of the box which caused some consternation in the audiophile community.
However, the year-end stock-clearance sale disguised as a closing-down sale still features some innovation. TechX is holding an auction with minimum bids set for more than 600 items. Thiban also revealed that he is opening another showroom in the Segambut area in Kuala Lumpur next year to showcase just three or four brands. Renovations are being done and an announcement will be made when the showroom is ready.
