TechX breaks new ground again: Now it’s music in an art gallery

TechX has become a trailblazer in the Malaysian hi-fi scene. The young company led by innovative marketeer Thiban has come up with another exciting and unusual strategy. Previously, he held a speaker launch in a marble showroom, now he is going to play music in an art gallery.

The event is aptly called ‘The Art of Sound: A Curated Listening Experience’.

From Jan 14 to 26, the event will feature a four-theme setup: One static visual zone exploring design, materials, and intent. The other three curated demo zones will each be emotionally distinct and genre-led.

Together, they form ‘Four Expressions of Musical Truth’, aligned to Vocals, Jazz and Chamber–Classical, with each zone answering a different question: What is sound before it’s played?

Thiban said: “The Art of Sound is a curated listening exhibition designed to shift focus away from specifications, sales talk, and distractions; instead we invite listeners to slow down, listen deeply, and reconnect with music as an emotional experience.

“This is not a showroom. Not a sale. Not a product launch. It is an audio exhibition where music becomes the art, and the equipment becomes the medium.”

In other words, you go there just to browse around the art pieces while music is being played and all you have to do is soak in the cool vibes. There will be no irritating sales talk at all.

Weekend activities and special programmes will be announced via TechX’s socmed channels.

The Art of Sound will be held at Awegallery, 21, Jalan 20/13, Taman Paramount, Petaling Jaya, from Jan 14 to 26. It opens daily (except Mondays) from 11am till 8pm.
