KEF Coda W speakers launched at unusual venue by TechX

TechX in collaboration with KEF, launched the new KEF Coda W speakers last Saturday in a most unusual venue — a marble showroom.

I did not attend the event as I was flying back with my family from a short holiday in Guangzhou, China. So the photos are courtesy of Thiban Chandra, the boss of TechX.

Marble Emporium 2.0 at Lot 46, Jalan 51/213, Seksyen 51, PJ, has a hidden cafe which was where the event was held.

The speakers were placed on marble pedestals (what else?) and the around 70 attendees sat on, well, marble benches. The first 30 attendees received attractive door gifts in the form of KEF mugs.

A complete five-colour display of the Coda W greeted guests, with the elegant Burgundy finish taking centre stage as the primary demonstration unit. Throughout the afternoon from 2pm to 5pm, the team played KEF’s curated tracks including Ryuichi Sakamoto’s “Andata,” Jo Hill’s “Where Did Ella Go,” and Sean Khan’s “Things Behind the Sun” allowing visitors to experience the speaker’s musical versatility.

Though showcased in an open, high-ceiling environment (far from a traditional critical listening room) the Coda W impressed. For many attendees, this was their first time hearing a powered KEF speaker in a public space, and they were surprised at how effortlessly it filled the venue with clean, controlled sound. The atmosphere remained lively, welcoming, and upbeat, driven by the young and energetic TechX, PH team with strong support from KEF and the Marble Emporium crew.

Guests also enjoyed free coffee, tea, matcha, and a variety of snacks including curry puffs, cakes, brownies, and cookies, which added to the relaxed and communal vibe. Many stayed back after the event officially ended at 5pm to chat with the sales team to find out more about the speakers’ capabilities.

A lucky draw added excitement to the day, with prizes sponsored by KEF:
1st Prize: KEF MU7 Headphones won by Cheng
2nd Prize: KEF MU3 Earphones won by Wei Shen
3rd Prize: KEF MU3 Earphones won by Aziz

“This is the kind of event we genuinely love; one that the public resonates with and one that builds real awareness of the joy of good sound. And honestly, what better way than free drinks, free snacks, and even free KEF headphones?” said event organiser Thiban Chandra of TechX.

Overall, the event offered a rare and memorable opportunity for visitors to experience the KEF Coda W up close, explore all five finishes, and understand why this all-in-one wireless system is gaining attention from both seasoned listeners and first-time HiFi explorers. If you missed the event, it’s not too late; visit any nearby KEF authorised dealer and ask for a Coda W demo. Or WhatsApp TechX at +60183698826
