Today, I continued my exploration and went to the 8th floor. First stop was the Swedish Statement room.
The reality that the sound quality of the many systems on demo is very high was again very evident today as I went from room to room.
Here are some of the highlights:
Marten Bird 2 speakers, Vitus pre and power amps, CD transport and DAC and Dohlmann turntable in the Swedish Statement room.
Dohmann Helix 1 turntable in the Swedisn Statement room.
Roksan integrated amp and CD player and ATC speakers in the Hiway Laser room.
Dali and PS Audio.
Nelson and Mathew Weisfeld (popularly known as Mat), the younger son of VPI Industries Inc founders Sheila and Harry Weisfeld. Note the gigantic Rosso Florentino’s flagship loudspeakers – Florentia – behind Nelson.
The Player turntable by VPI which has a built-in headphone amp.
Audionote speakers and amp plus Brinkmann turntable.
Brinkmann turntable
Heco speakers, Loit tube-output CD player and Magnat RV3 amp in the Audio Art room.
The FiiO R7 is to me at least, a first of its kind. A product that merges a player, digital to analogue convertor, preamplifier and headphone amplifier. All of this is crammed into a uniquely designed chassis that would standout while blending in seamlessly on a desktop setup. Offered in both black and white, the FiiO R7 is by far the most fascinating product currently available in the FiiO catalogue.
About a dozen Taiwanese companies are taking part in the coming Kuala Lumpur International AV show to be held on October 27-29 (Friday – Sunday) at The Gardens Hotel, Mid Valley City, Kuala Lumpur.
It is double happiness at YY Sound Systems' showroom in Glo Damansara, Kuala Lumpur, as there are two demo systems with different sonic flavours set up.
