The Mk II version of the impressive and award-winning KEF LS50 Wijreless speakers have reached Malaysia and are now available at all Perfect Hi-Fi outlets.
Andy Tan of Perfect Hi-Fi said it is not possible to organise a launch event during the current Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) period due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
He said very limited stock arrived two days ago and the speakers have been delivered to all its three showrooms in IOI Mall in Puchong, Amcorp Mall in Petaling Jaya and Wisma MPL in Kuala Lumpur. The price has been fixed at RM12,599 per pair.
The Mk II version of the KEF LS50 Wireless uses the 12th generation Uni-Q co-axial driver.
Perhaps the most vital difference between the Mk I and Mk II models is that the new model uses the revolutionary Metamaterial Absorption Technology (MAT), which is a highly complex maze-like structure that absorbs 99% of the unwanted sound from the rear of the driver, eliminating the resulting distortion and providing purer, more natural sound.
The wireless speakers are active and the built-in amplifiers were developed in-house by KEF. Each tweeter is driven by a 100W class A/B amplifier that delivers a smooth, incredibly detailed treble performance. Dedicated 280W class D amplifiers power the mid/bass drivers, for room-filling, controlled sound up to 108db.
The speakers can be used wired or wireless. You can choose to operate LS50 Wireless II completely wirelessly at 24bit/96kHz resolution for a completely clutter-free set up, or you can connect the two speakers with the supplied cable for 24bit/192kHz resolution sound.
You can stream directly from the Spotify native app with Spotify Connect. With the KEF Connect app you can also stream Tidal, Amazon Music, Qobuz, and Deezer or tune in to internet radio and podcasts.
It has support for streaming music files up to 24bit/384kHz, as well as MQA, DSD256, and Roon Ready (coming soon). When using LS50 Wireless II with Airplay 2, Chromecast or Roon you can stream to multiple speakers around your home at the same time. By using multiple LS50 Wireless II speakers, you can have a simple, high-performance multiroom system. — Posted by Lam Seng Fatt
