JBL’s K2 floorstanders and the Mark Levinson No. 631 monoblocks were launched at AV Designs today.

The event began with Senior Business Development Manager Asia Pacific of Harman, Mark Ng, showing a presentation on the history of JBL and how its “Project” series has evolved over the years to culminate in the current “Project Summit” series. Mark Ng, who is based in Singapore, also touched on Mark Levinson’s 600 series.

After the short talk, a demo session was held hosted by the regular “DJ” Jo Ki, who played a wide range of music from techno to classical and solo female vocalist. The demo system comprised the JBL K2 floorstanders driven by the Mark Levinson No. 631 monoblocks, which are rated at 500 watts into 8 Ohms and did not even break a sweat pumping out the bass lines of the techno tracks. These huge monoblocks are stable into 2 Ohm loads and did not run hot at all.
