Victor Pheh of Hifi Creations Audio Boutique invited me to have a listen to the 2025 range of Accuphase integrated amps yesterday.
The invitation coincided with my renewed interest in making recordings and I wiped the dust from the Sound Devices MixPre-3 II digital recorder and the Tascam TM-2X microphone and bought a 3.5mm male to female extension cable, a long fast-charging USB cable and charged the power bank to power the digital recorder.
These recordings were done in 24 bit 48kHz in WAV format and later converted to FLAC with J River v 28. My previous recordings posted in earlier reports were done with the Tascam microphone attached to my Sony ZV-E10 camera which were actually the audio tracks of videos, so the quality was not very high.
There were two systems set up at Hifi Creations’ showroom. Near the entrance of the showroom is a system comprising the Accuphase E-3000 100W Class AB integrated ramp (retailing at RM27,000), the Playback Designs MPD-6 DAC (RM75,000) with Stream X2 module (RM13,000) and the Revival Atalante 3 bookshelf speakers (RM15,500).

In the large listening room at the rear is the big rig comprising the Accuphase E-700 35W Class A integrated (retailing at RM48,000), the Playback Designs MPD-8 AI DAC (RM146,000), the Pink Faun 2.16 Ultra Streamer (RM150,000) and the Revival Atalante 5 standmount speakers (RM29,900).

I was actually quite surprised that the Accuphase E-700, which is a 35-watter Class A integrated amp, sounded more dynamic, punchy and authoritative than the 100-watter E-3000 Class AB component.
The weather yesterday was rainy and the skies were dark and gloomy, but inside Hifi Creations Audio Boutique’s demo rooms, the atmosphere was cheerful and bright and the music was rockin’ and rollin’.
