TAD’s first integrated amp and new speakers launched at AV Designs

The usual suspects…

TAD’s first integrated amp, the TAD A1000-S, and the latest floorstander, TAD E1AX-K, were launched at AV Designs in Kuala Lumpur this afternoon.

A group of audiophiles attended a presentation by Tony Low of AV Designs on the history of TAD and Pioneer and its range of products including amplifiers and speakers.

After that, a demo session conducted by Jo Ki was held. The TAD A1000-S integrated amp which is rated at 250 watts into 4 Ohms (probably 125 watts into 8 Ohms) sounded more powerful than its rated power output and despite its Class D design, it did not sound dry.

The TAD E1AX-K floorstander features a down-firing port which connects to slots firing to the front and back and its bass goes very low. It also has a rather small co-axial driver featuring a 3.5 inch magnesium cone and a one-inch semi-dome tweeter, but the compact size did not result in small sound.

The TAD E1AX-K floorstanders are priced at RM112,800 a pair while the TAD A1000-S integrated amp retails at RM111,300. Call for AV Designs at 03-6241 1237 for an audition.
