The latest listening space in Kuala Lumpur, which officially opened yesterday, is tucked in a remote corner of the city in an area that is not known for audiophiles or AV dealers, but it is worthwhile to make your way to Audio Haus in Taman Sri Segambut.
If you are not familiar with that area you will definitely need Waze to guide you. But you will be rewarded with eight demo rooms spread out on the first floors of two adjoining shophouses and one more stereo demo room next to the ground-floor Lucky CFO cafe.
You will also be treated to an AV demo on a 7.2.6 system featuring JW Lab speakers (Joseph Wong’s designs) and sub-woofers, a Hisense laser projector and a 200-inch screen, possibly the biggest in town.
The demo systems feature speakers from DALI and JW Speaker Lab and AV processors and amps from Marantz and thick cables from Inakustik.
Audio Haus is spacious and welcoming. Auditions are held on a ‘by appointment’ basis, but Joseph Wong will probably be there daily as he has moved his office and showroom from 3 Two Square, Jalan 19/1, Petaling Jaya to Audio Haus. His workshop, however, is still at 3 Two Square.
