This post came about when my very significant other half asked me, “What are you doing at KLIAV Show all day?”
For the benefit of others whose, significant other half asked the same question, here goes:
Try your luck at the KLIAV Show Lucky Draw!
Have a look at some of the latest cash & carry deals in town
Hunting for that elusive CD you once heard somewhere before and got hook wondering how it would sound like in your system!
You sit down and listen to hifi or music which catches your fancy
You buy “Special Edition from Hong Kong” audio accessories from MSHD boss Mr Hung
Photo frame yourself with some of the most friendly ladies, oopss maybe this one cannot show your other half, Ha! Ha!
Let’s Kara anyone???
You haven’t found that elusive CD yet, so you keep hunting……….
Headphones & head amps testing
Meet your favorite audiophile recording artist session
Watch a movie in some of the most stunning picture & sound quality available, experience state of the art AV system that you just can’t afford yet
Testing some of the most expensive & best sounding head phones
Hunting for that hidden LP gem that you’ve been looking for high & low in the past few years
Browsing for some items of interest just to get rid of those loose change in the pocket!
NuFrorce, NeBoom!
Hifi & AV Shows sometimes even showcases the latest fad in 2 wheel or 4 wheel motoring
Getting in to the action! Take some pictures with the nice promo girls….. oopsss I forgot, this will get you in to a whole lot of trouble
See…… it’s not only me doing it!
This guy steps up the game to get the girls, he starts to sing too! Ronald won the day, yes I remembered him. Ha! Ha!
And I did it My……………Way! As Frank Sinatra(or any other sucessful people) would sing
Jaben Audio’s Mr Ma was busy doing ear molds to get audience to experience custom molded in ear buds
First a 2 part silicone mix is prepared
See, these are safe to use medical grade stuff, not something you get from the DIY store!
Then proceed to check your ear lobes for any unwanted debris inside
Some of the tolls used for the job
After making sure you have clean ears, a sponge stopper is inserted to prevent the ear mold silicone from going in too far
Gently does it…………….
Then a device is used to push in the stopper foam
The ear mold silicone injected and not waiting for it to set. It takes about 15-20 minutes
When the time comes, the ear mold is removed along with the stopper foam
One final ear check to make sure nothing untoward is left inside
Going for my very own ear mold!
Taadaaa! that’s how my ear mold looks like, now all I have to do is to fill up a contest form(in orange) and be in the running to win a pair of personalized custom ear molded ear phones!
Meet Dan Poulton from Naim, who reveals that something big is about to happen in Naim world! shhhh………
Meeting Mr YF Fong & Jeff Lin from Telos Audio
Having a chat with Nelson Chia from Center Circle Audio
Or listening to a very up beat Mat Westfield analog prep talk, specifically, VPI turn tables
Exploring the world of acoustic cups!
It’s Akustik-Labor, NOT ASI or Franck Tchang, you know?
The other variables in acoustic cup designs, I like the one moulded in to the NEMA 5 US style plug
All proudly hand made by Mr Moto-Lin, from Taiwan
And here Franck Tchang of ASI, “somebody called me?”
Also catching up with old friends at the blow water stop, The JW Marriot Terrace Cafe! Meeting Franco Lock again, and I swear, each time I see this guy, he represents new beginings!
Note forgeting Mr Louis D of Kronos turn tables & Karem Kucukasian(now you try pronounce that!) from Absolare tube amps. Of course by now, every one know those promo girls by their first names already, did any one managed to get their contacts?
So that’s how one manages to spend 3 full days at the KLIAV Show every year!
Begins Acoustic is beginning to go places...it is relocating to Puchong where it will have a double-storey shophouse with lots more space for its demo and showrooms.
The FiiO R7 is to me at least, a first of its kind. A product that merges a player, digital to analogue convertor, preamplifier and headphone amplifier. All of this is crammed into a uniquely designed chassis that would standout while blending in seamlessly on a desktop setup. Offered in both black and white, the FiiO R7 is by far the most fascinating product currently available in the FiiO catalogue.
About a dozen Taiwanese companies are taking part in the coming Kuala Lumpur International AV show to be held on October 27-29 (Friday – Sunday) at The Gardens Hotel, Mid Valley City, Kuala Lumpur.
