Surprise, surprise…Musical Fidelity, the respected British manufacturer of hi-fi components, has launched its own version of the venerable BBC mini monitor speakers, the LS3/5a.
From the MF website: “Over the years, the LS3/5a has became an industry standard for music and broadcasting studios. Without surprise, it didn’t take long for it to gain an interest in the audiophile sector. The LS3/5a was produced by several speaker manufacturers over many decades already. The Musical Fidelity A1 was always the perfect partner with its Class A amplification. The result was an astonishing clear, detailed and warm sound stage.
“Built on the original specifications, our Musical Fidelity LS3/5a is a revival of this classic and highly sought-after loudspeaker.”
Musical Fidelity’s version is a 15-Ohm impedance model and has sensitivity of 82.5dB. It is made according to the British Broadcasting Corporation Specifications BBC RD1976/29.
