Three Malaysians were among the exhibitors in WAVE AV Experience 2026 which was held at the Royale Chulan Damansara Hotel, Mutiara Damansara, Petaling Jaya from Sept 25-27.
In Swedish Statement Audio Boutique’s room on the ground floor, Membrane Resonators from a Penang-based company called Acoustic Solutions were used to control the acoustics of the large room for optimum listening pleasure. The man behind Acoustic Solutions is Bey Thuan Wei, whose ‘part-time’ job is operating a golden arowana breeding farm.
His Membrane Resonators are designed to control low frequency standing waves in the 50Hz to 150Hz range to reduce boominess and muddiness in the bass region. They also improve low frequency decay and enhances clarity and imaging.
His Membrane Resonators must have worked well because many attendees mentioned that the Swedish Statement demo system sounded very good.
Dr Anwar Ali needs no introduction as he is already well known for his streamers and USB cables. For WAVE 2026, he showcased his newly developed mid-range music server, AAMS S, which uses a hybrid power supply topology of SMPS with post linear voltage regulators. He also demoed the Lyrion Music Server plugins he recently developed.
Joseph Wong, the speaker designer, also needs no introduction as he has showcased his JW Speaker Labs speakers in several AV shows in Kuala Lumpur and Penang.
For WAVE 2026 he demoed his AV system with surround, Atmos speakers and sub-woofers. He also introduced a unit which looks more like an interior decor module when in fact it houses speakers, a sub-woofer and a wall light.
