Audioquest cables using the latest type of copper invented by the famed American manufacturer of audiophile cables were demoed at Perfect Hi-Fi’s showroom in IOI Mall, Puchong, today.
The new type of copper is called No Grain Copper and it is made by coating Audioquest’s Perfect-Surface Copper+ with a layer of molten copper before cooling the wire. Previously Audioquest had introduced Long-Grain Copper, Perfect-Surface Copper and Perfect-Surface Copper+ in the making of its cables.
A demo session was held using an all-McIntosh system driving a pair of Sonus Faber speakers. Handling the demo was Audioquest Director of International Sales Adam Shaw Cotterill accompanied by Audioquest Head of Business Development APAC Robert Wong.

Adam Shaw started with a Bigfoot cable for the bass and a Lone Ranger cable for the mid and treble in a bi-wire configuration. Then he replaced the Lone Ranger with an Athena cable which features the new No-Grain Copper. He ended the the demo with the top of the range Dragon XTRM cables in bi-wired configuration. The Dragon XTRM cables feature No-Grain Copper signal conductors and No-Grain Silver drain wires.
